Whether you're picking up the guitar for the first time or want to take your playing to the next level, Timothy can prepare you for music exams (grades 1-8), in which his students have had a 100% pass rate, or give the the technique to play pieces for your own enjoyment.

 

 

Timothy studied music and the guitar for twenty years, and completed a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (Cardiff) and the Norwegian Academy of Music (Oslo) under the tutelege of internationally acclaimed guitarists and teachers John Mills, Chris Stell and Sven Lundestad.  He also received masterclasses in the UK and abroad from some of the greatest classical guitarists in the world, learning first hand the most successful and effective teaching techniques from masters including John Williams, David Russell, Pavel Steidl and many more.

 

With several years experience teaching students individually privately and in groups for Cardiff County Music Service at a variety of levels from age 4 to 64!

 

Timothy also teaches music theory lessons in preparation for the grade 5 theory exam required of ABRSM students to progress beyond grade 5 in their instrument.

 

 

 

With a repertoire spanning the Renaissance to the present day and years of experience performing around the UK and in Italy, France, Germany and Slovenia, Timothy has the music to fit the theme of your event.

 

Timothy Tate is also available to perform at weddings and large corporate and social events. With years of experience, Timothy Tate will liven up your special event with Classical, Spanish, Latin American and Contemporary music adding the perfect finishing touch with his dazzling and refined playing. He will work with you well before your event date to understand your preferences and plan just the right music for your celebration.
